Greenhouse trays and soil

Custom-blended soil mixes are a vital ingredient for anyone who operates a greenhouse.

For our part, Williamson Greenhouses sells our own special blend of germination mix with a starter injection of fertilizer that will be released on your first water cycle. Our offerings include specialized tobacco and vegetable soil mixes as well.

As far as containers, we have a wide range of foam trays with various counts: 72, 128, 162, 200, 288 and 338.

We also offer inserts for our 128- and 200-cell foam trays. We can supply you with hard-molded plastic or hemp trays.

Seeding tips

Please review a few of our seeding tips:

• Proper seeding is the first step toward obtaining maximum seedling usability. Either tube or vacuum seeders can be used and both types need frequent checking to be sure they are delivering one seed per cell.
• For proper germination, the greenhouse floor temperature should be held at 68–70º F until germination is complete.
• Locate thermometers on the floor, not at eye level. There can be a great difference between the floor temperature and the temperature several feet above it.
